The worlds most celebrated traditional Irish band celebrates their 60th Anniversary with the first-ever vinyl release of their iconic album Voice of Ages (2012).

Formed in Dublin in 1962, The Chieftains are a 6 x Grammy Award Winning Traditional Irish Folk band. Being awarded the title of ‘Ireland’s Musical Ambassadors’ in 1989, The Chieftains have been credited for bringing Irish music to a wider audience, popularising it around the world. Creating a sound which is built around uilleann pipes, their sound has become synonymous with traditional Irish Music.

This imaginative collection of songs sees a collaboration between The Chieftains and a dazzling array of likeminded musical visionaries from the worlds of indie-rock (Bon Iver, The Decemberists, The Low Anthem, Paolo Nutini), Country and Americana (The Civil Wars, Pistol Annies, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Punch Brothers), Irish Folk (Imelda May, Lisa Hannigan).
