Coldplay’s #1 ‘Viva La Vida’ comes before Side One’s closing track, the epic ‘The Whole Of The Moon’ from The Waterboys. Flip the LP over for ‘70s smashes from Carly Simon with ‘You’re So Vain’,10cc with ‘I’m Not In Love’ and Kiki Dee with ‘Amoureuse’. LP2s first side is all about contemporary classics: Bruce Springsteen’s Academy Award-winning ‘Streets Of Philadelphia’, Sting’s ‘Fields Of Gold’, ‘We Didn’t Start The Fire’ from Billy Joel and ‘Slave To Love’ from Bryan Ferry along with Tina Turner’s cover of ‘Let’s Stay Together’ plus modern gems from Lana Del Rey and Ed Sheeran make this whole side a stunning showcase…while over on the other side, a collection of beautiful ballads, opening with Art Garfunkel’s ‘Bright Eyes’ and ‘Love On The Rocks’ from Neil Diamond alongside Lionel Richie & Diana Ross, The Stylistics and Dionne Warwick leading into a closing trio of dramatic and unforgettable ‘60s essentials from Dusty Springfield, Lesley Gore and finishing with Shirley Bassey and her truly iconic signature ‘Goldfinger’.
