'The Kentucky Derby is Decadent and Depraved' is a 2012 recording of Hunter S. Thompson’s seminal 1970 sports article. The article is credited with being the first piece of Gonzo Journalism - an unconventional journalistic style for which Thompson was known. Voices include actor Tim Robbins and Thompson’s illustrator Ralph Steadman. The dialogue is interspersed by jazzy musical passages played by a band led by jazz guitarist and composer Bill Frisell.
