Legacy - The Creedence Clearwater Revival Years: Ruby Red Vinyl 2LP
Release date: 22 August, 2025
John Fogerty celebrates the songs that shaped rock history—on his own terms. For the first time, he fully owns the rights to his iconic catalog, and Legacy marks both a celebration and a reclamation. Featuring newly recorded versions of his most beloved tracks, the album captures Fogerty’s raw energy and renewed creative fire as he approaches his 80th birthday. Backed by his family band and buoyed by a wave of fresh recognition—from a recent induction by Bruce Springsteen at the American Music Honors, to fiery 2025 sets at JazzFest, Glastonbury, The Hollywood Bowl and much more—Fogerty remains as fierce and joyful as ever. Legacy is not just a celebration of one of the greatest catalogs in rock & roll—it’s the sound of an American original claiming his place, once more, at center stage.
A Note from John
When I was three years old, my mother sat me down and gave me a little yellow record. There were two songs on this little record, and she played them for me; “Oh Susanna” and “Camp Town Races.” Then she explained that Stephen Foster was the writer of both songs. I have often wondered how my mother felt about that moment; what she was thinking? Because something very profound happened in my life because of that little ceremony. A spark was ignited in my soul, in my imagination and I began to pay attention to songs and the craft of creating them. As I grew up, I learned about other wonderful songwriters, some of them favorites of my mom and many, many more that I discovered on my own.
Here's the thing - It’s the song
It’s the song
It’s the song
I did not know if I would become a good songwriter. But I sure knew that’s what I wanted to do!
This record is a celebration of my songs, My Legacy
