Released in May 1991, Never Loved Elvis is the third studio album by English alternative rock band The Wonder Stuff - Issued by Polydor Records, it followed The Eight Legged Groove Machine (1988) and Hup (1989), becoming the group's most commercially successful studio album - Produced by Mick Glossop and recorded at Townhouse Studios in London, the album features Miles Hunt (vocals and guitar), Malcolm Treece (guitar), Paul Clifford (bass), Martin Gilks (drums) and Martin Bell, whose multiinstrumental contributions include fiddle, banjo and accordion - Guest musicians also include Kirsty MacColl and Linda McRae - This 180g vinyl reissue faithfully replicates the original Polydor UK pressing

The album retains the band's energetic guitar- driven sound, combining alternative rock with folk-influenced instrumentation, catchy melodies and Hunt's sardonic lyrics. "The Size of a Cow" became their biggest hit to date, reaching number five on the UK Singles Chart. Other singles included "Caught in My Shadow" and "Sleep Alone", while "Welcome to the Cheap Seats" was released in 1992.

Never Loved Elvis reached number three on the UK Albums Chart and achieved gold certification in Britain. Its commercial success established The Wonder Stuff among the leading British alternative rock acts of the early 1990s.
