CPWM 7” Singles Club has announced their first release for 2018 after a hugely busy 2017 that included a number of split singles and the labels first, full length ‘Come Play’ compilation.
The first duo to join the CPWM family in 2018 are Leeds based Avant-jazz punks Mansion of Snakes who will be joined by the crushingly heavy and psychedelic trio Brooders.
First up is Mansion of Snakes, a 12-piece behemoth playing earth-shaking afro-beat, devil-funk and cosmic jazz. Fronted by blazing horns and backed by pounding percussion and bass. The band fuses the influences of Nigerian afro-beat pioneer Fela Kuti with Pharoah Sanders, Funkadelic and pure punk energy.
After wowing audiences at venues and festivals across the country and releasing their eponymous debut EP the Leeds afro-beat/cosmic-jazz warriors will release their hotly anticipated new music via CPWM with the winding and biting single ‘Mating Season’ with the band proclaiming “The earth shall shake and the serpents will dance, for Mansion of Snakes is here.”
Joining Mansion of Snakes on the split single will be psych-grunge three piece Brooders. The fast rising Leeds trio who combine chaotic and heavy riffs with a swirling psychedelic edge with a skill that sets them apart from their contemporaries. Having gigged and toured the UK relentlessly for the last year and testing the waters with an endless stream of musical exploration and song-writing Brooders have burst forth with 'Lie'
“Lie has been a work in progress for a long time” explains the bands Adam Bairstow, “It’s a culmination of the stresses and pressures that come with love, loss and paranoia all rolled into one brutally honest, twisted, chaotic track.”
