This house is too big, this house is too small comes from a very specific place. A lot of the songs were started in a period of intense loss and heartache at the beginning of 2020. What started as an outpouring of grief, anger, hurt and loss, ended up as a study of the dying years of a relationship, ultimately leading to acceptance and understanding, both of the situation and myself.
From a production point of view, we were incredibly lucky to work with Tom Hill (Modern Rituals, Muttering) again, who recorded and produced the album whenever the pandemic allowed us. We even managed to get some friends involved, with Lily Rae (Fightmilk) and Leah Sidebotham lending their vocal talents, and Tom Hammond (Lakes) providing our brass track after guesting on Drunk Christmas (Forget This Year) in 2020.
